HIGHLIGHTS / PARTNERSHIPS

Pioneering a first-of-its-kind “Creating Shared Value” case in Hong Kong
In 2018, after two years of Feasibility Study and preparation, EXTRA MILE piloted three working prototypes to support youth empowerment, inclusiveness, and family while innovating new ways to attract and retain talent for the HKIA community:

Working Holiday@Lantau: a one-year work placement programme, encompassing accommodation and exploratory elements to motivate and facilitate people-skill development of working youth

The Pioneer: a one-year work placement programme for non-Chinese speakers with leadership potential to nurture team leaders who may act as a bridge between local supervisors and non-Chinese employees

EduCare: a one-academic-year after-school care programme for Tung Chung primary school students whose parents are working at HKIA, covering tutorial services, exposure programmes and family support

Embedding people-centric innovations among HKIA community to ‘go the EXTRA MILE’

Business Partners were encouraged to ‘go the EXTRA MILE’ to explore new ways of recruiting and retaining under-employed community segments and create opportunities for future talents to flourish in their companies.

Advocating for empowerment employment in Hong Kong

SVhk advised AAHK on media and communications to bring EXTRA MILE’s innovation and human stories to life, sharing case learnings on empowerment in the context of employment, to prompt new narratives in mainstream corporate circles
