Doris is the Executive Director of SVhk, and was a senior journalist with Cable TV News for many years. She left the company as Principal Reporter and joined SVhk since 2009, after being a dedicated volunteer for 2 years. She strongly believed that by participating and pioneering social entrepreneurship in Hong Kong, she could make a bigger impact to the society, than being a reporter. Doris is responsible for the membership development and event organization in SVhk, and also taking the lead in 2 flagship projects, namely Diamond Cab and Happy Grannies Elderly Sponsorship Program.
Doris' passion for barrier-free transport developed after her mother became permanently disabled in 2007. She realized the inadequacy of accessible transport options for the disabled. After three years building up Diamond Cab, Doris is now managing its operations and long-term strategy. Doris is also the Executive Director of SVhk.
"SVhk not only provided me with the initial finances to start up my own venture, but also the business expertise, networks and technical support which a new start-up dearly needs. I am very grateful for SVhk’s professional and comprehensive support, which allowed me to concentrate on using my innovation to groom Diamond Cab and deliver a distinctive case of venture philanthropy."

Happy Grannies was born when Sindy entered the SVhk Social Innovation Award in 2008 with a strong passion for supporting the elderly. Sindy asked: "If we can sponsor children in Africa, why can't we sponsor our elderly at home?" Since then, Sindy has been juggling a busy schedule between her own business and taking Happy Grannies from idea to reality.
"I hope as many people can participate in Happy Grannies as possible. Only this way can our service scope continue to expand. In the coming year, I hope to grow our volunteer base from around 100 to over 400, and serve over 100 elderly."
